H (helvetica) – Destroyed

Swiss designer, currently based in Berlin, Filippo Nugara shared with me this video performance based on the emblematic Helvetica letter H.

Video projected in a middle of a rock/electronica concert for a multimedia performance mixing live video and music.
The “H” use the exact proportion of the Helvetica font, who’s a perfect symbol of the swiss culture.

I guess as a Swiss designer Helvetica is always around, and has been for some time. Perhaps this is his way of “freeing” himself from the burden of his famous “Swiss style” ancestors. Funny though that the H was such a hard bastard to destroy!

This one was built to last, fifty-two years old and still one of my favorites.
