Pages, Editorial Design - Index Book

I’ve just bought this book recently. It’s a very nice homage to all those soulful publications that provide us with so much inspiration : Catalogues , books, covers, magazines, newspapers…

A must have in your shelf if you love grid, typography and good editorial design.

The Design Auction

It all began one frosty morning, in Thomas Parker House when Matt, Liam and myself began something very special. Running out of ways to procrastinate, we actually decided to do something productive. We began thinking of ways to raise cash for our end of year degree show, other than emptying our own wallets.

It began with one e-mail and two names - Kate Moross and Jon Burgerman. Desperately pleading for anything that could be auctioned to raise money, we were ecstatic at the arrival of two very generous contributions and we realised that this was going to be BIG. Our goal was realised when we met with two of our lecturers, both envisaged a huge event… A big venue, a special guest auctioneer, a website and a catalogue, not to mention posters… So, here we are.

Haas Grotesk - Helvetica Prints

Sam Mallett, 3rd year Graphic Design student form The University of Wales Newport, just sent me mail talking about his poster project.

Last summer I did a short work placement in Zürich and had the opportunity to play with some lead type. As it was the 50th birthday of Helvetica and I was in its home country I thought it would be only fair to celebrate it, so I designed and printed this poster to illustrate a small but important change in the typefaces development.
Its an A3 poster with 72pt. Halbfett Haas Grotesk in one colour and 72pt. Halbfett Helvetica in another.
To make some funds for my final major project I was hoping to sell a few
